Since opening its doors in 1998, ARF has moved to its current location. Thanks to the generosity of a very special donor, ARF is able to stay on the property rent free, though ARF pays for all of the utilities, & buildings & grounds maintenance associated with the property. The ARF campus consists of:
-
The Sanctuary House which houses dogs with behavioral or medical issues making them less suitable for adoption. These fur babies are our “permanent residents,” & they need a lot of financial support to keep them comfortable. If you have a soft spot in your heart for the “underdogs,” please consider sponsoring (via a recurring donation) our Sanctuary House doggies.
-
The Catty Shack which houses up to 50 cats in large rooms with approximately 15 cats per room
-
The Adoption Center which houses our adoptable dogs
-
The Administration building where guests can make donations (both supplies & monetary donations), pay for adoptions, get assistance completing & submitting vouchers for the SNSI Spay-Neuter Assistance Program (SNAP), & surrender animals.
-
The “Garage” which houses our 2 adorable pigs, Lucy & Wilbur (they have “piggy doors” so they can go outside in the fenced yard whenever they please,) as well as some of our buildings & grounds supplies.
-
The Bark Park which is our one-acre fenced park for dogs & owners to play off-leash for a nominal membership fee.
-
The aluminum can recycling corral at which everyone is encouraged to recycle aluminum cans (look for the fenced area with the giant cat tail sticking out of it.)
-
The “Barn,” the “Blue Shed,” the “White Metal” outbuilding, the “Turner Shed,” & the “Supply Nook” which are storage buildings.
ARF is a shelter where the animals do not spend day after day in a crate or kennel, but rather in rooms equipped with beds, toys, windows & other animals, if personalities allow. ARF now has 13 part-time employees plus one veterinarian to care for the animals, maintain the property, keep track of records, & meet the public during adoption hours.

Mission
The mission of the Animal Rescue Fund (ARF) is to provide shelter, medical care, and love to abused, abandoned, neglected, and unwanted animals until permanent homes can be found. Through educational efforts, public awareness, and community involvement, ARF seeks to relieve animal suffering; to prevent cruelty, abuse, neglect and overpopulation; to eliminate euthanasia as a way of animal control, thereby creating a “no-kill” community in which both animals and humans benefit from the goodness of each other.
